“Our last conference call with the minor-league development people, that was something we started to talk about,” Callaway said before Friday’s game against the Nationals. “With the way the season’s going, we have to get him playing some different positions. The way his season has gone, his ability to swing the bat and put together good at-bats, he’s probably earned the right to have a chance up in the big leagues at some point. And for him to have the best possible chance, we think him moving around would be valuable.”
