Meghan Markle and Prince Harry send out wedding thank you cards to well-wishers

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have sent out official thank you cards for their royal wedding – and they’ve included all well-wishers on the recipient list.

From the beginning, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were clear that they wanted their wedding day to be inclusive – a reason they extended invites to members of the general public to join the festivities.

And now, the newlyweds have expressed their gratitude for all who helped them celebrate the day.

According to the Instagram account Royal Letters, Kensington Palace sent out thank you cards from the Duke and Duchess to anyone who sent a wedding card congratulating the couple.

The cards arrived in an envelope featuring the Kensington Palace crest and included a black-and-white photo of the couple on their wedding day, shot by photographer Alexi Lubomirski.

On the back of the stunning photograph of the pair smiling, the card reads: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been overwhelmed by all the incredibly kind cards and letters they have received on the occasion of their wedding, and are so touched that you took the trouble to write as you did.

“It really was most thoughtful of you and greatly appreciated by Their Royal Highnesses who send you their very best wishes.”

Of the iconic photograph chosen for the card, Lubomirski, who also shot the couple’s engagement photos, previously said: “There was this moment where they were just laughing because they were joking about how they were exhausted and finally it’s all over and they just looked at each other and they were just laughing.

“It was just this beautiful moment.”
